Quantitative Assessment of Burner Flame Stability Through Digital Image Processing

چکیده
Flame stability is a well-known problem in the power industry where low quality fuel fired and combustion conditions change rapidly. Unstable flames often lead to lower efficiency, higher pollutant emissions, other operational problems. Although there are many methods available for flame monitoring characterisation, very few suitable monitoring. This paper presents method quantification of by introducing term called index through digital imaging image processing. combines variability several characteristic parameters flame. The premixed methane-air equivalence ratio ranging from 0.36 2.17 methane-biomass ten biomass fuels measured on laboratory-scale test rig. For purpose comparison also terms oscillation frequency with two earlier methods. Results show that correlation coefficient between greater than 0.89, indicating characterises stability. In addition, more sensitive variation its requires shorter data length. proposed outperforms methods, although latter summation or mean-square calculation. Unlike determined using capable quantifying regardless conditions.

Processing Digital Image for Measurement of Crack Dimensions in Concrete
The elements of the concrete structure are most frequently affected by cracking. Crack detection is essential to ensure safety and performance during its service life. Cracks do not have a regular shape, in order to achieve the exact dimensions of the crack; the general mathematical formulae are by no means applicable. The authors have proposed a new method which aims to measure the crack dimen...
متن کاملForced Response: Laminar Flat Flame Burner
Since a large number of physical parameters influence the flame dynamics in a full scale gas turbine combustor, it is virtually impossible to develop physically correlated reduced order models for flame dynamics by directly studying these complex reacting flows. Even the Rijke tube combustor system, though comprising of a simple geometry and a flat flame, shows a strong nonlinear coupling betwe...
متن کاملQuantitative Analysis of SPECT Myocardial Perfusion and Assessment of Myocardium Defect Regions through Image Processing Techniques
In this paper we present a new approach for quantitative analysis of myocardial perfusion SPECT studies and assessment of myocardium defect regions. Myocardial perfusion SPECT is widely used in the evaluation of post-infarction patients, in order to foretell the patients’ future conditions. Our approach is based on the use of polar maps, a two-dimensional plot of the reconstructed volume from t...
متن کاملRadiofrequency ablation of liver tumors: quantitative assessment of tumor coverage through CT image processing
BACKGROUND Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is one of the most promising non-surgical treatments for hepatic tumors. The assessment of the therapeutic efficacy of RFA is usually obtained by visual comparison of pre- and post-treatment CT images, but no numerical quantification is performed. METHODS In this work, a novel method aiming at providing a more objective tool for the evaluation of RFA c...
متن کاملImage-Based Flame Control of a Premixed Gas Burner Using Fuzzy Logics
This paper presents an application of fuzzy logics for controlling the combustion flame of a premixed gas burner. The control objective is to achieve a good characteristic of combustion flame by visualizing the colors of the flame while maintaining its size as desired. The fuzzy logic controller adjusts the flow rates of gas and air independently through two stepper-driven needle valves. A CCD ...
